Wattson Electrical – Terms & Conditions

1. Services Provided

Wattson Electrical provides domestic and commercial electrical installation, testing, inspection, maintenance, and repair services. All work is carried out in accordance with current UK regulations and industry standards.

2. Quotes & Pricing

  • All prices are quoted excluding VAT, which will be added at the prevailing rate.
  • Quotes are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise.
  • Prices may vary if additional work is required that was not visible or reasonably identifiable at the time of quotation.
  • Parking, congestion, ULEZ or toll charges will be added if applicable.
  • If the customer can provide a valid parking permit or space, it must be within a short walking distance of the job.

3. Booking, Deposits & Cancellation

  • Some bookings may require a deposit, which will be clearly stated on the quote or invoice.
  • To cancel or reschedule an appointment, you must contact us at least 24 hours before your appointment.
  • If cancelled late or if access cannot be provided on arrival:
    • You may lose part or all of the deposit; or
    • If no deposit was taken, a £105.00 charge will apply.

4. Access & Site Conditions

  • The customer must ensure safe and reasonable access to the work area.
  • Large items or obstacles must be removed before the appointment.
  • Unless otherwise agreed in writing, making good, painting, plastering, or decorating is not included in our service.

5. Materials & Parts

  • Materials supplied remain the property of Wattson Electrical until fully paid for.
  • Special-order items may require payment upfront.
  • All parts are installed in accordance with manufacturer instructions.

6. Payments & Late Fees

  • Invoices are due within the payment terms shown on the invoice (usually upon completion unless stated otherwise).
  • Late payments will incur a charge of 8% per day until paid in full.
  • Certificates (EIC, EICR, Minor Works etc.) may be withheld until payment has cleared.

7. Warranty & Guarantee

  • Electrical installation work is covered by the NICEIC 6-Year Platinum Promise, provided the work is notified and registered under the scheme.
  • Wattson Electrical also provides a 12-month workmanship guarantee on installation work.
  • Manufacturer warranties apply to parts and materials.
  • Damage caused by misuse, tampering, wear and tear, accidental damage, or third-party interference is not covered.
  • We will not be liable for issues arising from outdated, unsafe, or pre-existing electrical installations.

8. Liability

Wattson Electrical is not liable for: - Loss or damage caused by factors beyond our control - Delays caused by parts availability or supplier issues - Consequential losses (e.g. loss of earnings, rent, or business)

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

9. Consumer Rights

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

10. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Your information is stored securely using trusted third-party systems such as: - Tradify (job management) - Email service provider - Accounting software

We keep financial records for up to 7 years, as required by UK tax law.

5. Sharing Your Data

We may share your data with: - Relevant certification bodies (e.g. NICEIC/NAPIT) if certificates are issued - Subcontractors assisting on a job (only when necessary) - Accountants or legal advisors (if required) - Government bodies when legally obligated

We do not share your data for advertising or marketing purposes.
